Ashleigh Schopen, MS, CCLS, FT, has been providing psychosocial support to children and families since 2008 as a Certified Child Life Specialist. She holds a Master of Science degree specializing in Child Life Studies and brings extensive clinical experience from several leading children’s hospitals in Springfield, Massachusetts; New York City; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For the past 15 years, Ashleigh has served at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, spending thirteen of those years as a clinical expert in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Her work in the PICU centers on collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to reduce stress and trauma, support sedation weaning, encourage early mobility, and promote inclusive, family-centered care that empowers families as active partners in the healing process and their child’s overall care. Ashleigh has served on and led numerous unit, department, and hospital-wide committees dedicated to improving the psychosocial care of children and families across diverse populations.

Lydia Westle, MMT, MT-BC, has been a Board-Certified Music Therapist since 2011 and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music therapy from Temple University. She currently works as a Creative Arts Therapy Clinical Supervisor for the Intensive Care Units at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, providing direct clinical care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Units. Grounded in a trauma-informed, humanistic approach, Lydia collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support the psychosocial well-being of patients and families. She has extensive experience using music therapy across diverse backgrounds and clinical settings to promote coping, reduce distress, and foster emotional expression and processing through creativity.
Certified in hospice and palliative care music therapy, Lydia has shared her work through publications and presentations at national and international conferences. She feels deeply honored to partner with families in creating meaningful moments of connection, beauty, and comfort throughout their hospital journeys.
