Biography

Professor Miguel Mascarenhas is a consultant gastroenterologist, academic professor, and internationally recognized expert in artificial intelligence applied to digestive diseases. He leads the Precision Medicine Unit at Hospital São João and the University of Porto and holds a PhD focused on AI in Gastroenterology. He has led the development of multiple AI technologies and currently serves as Co-Chair of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) AI Guidelines Taskforce, contributing to global standards for AI in clinical practice.

Biography

Kulwinder S Dua currently is Professor, Department of Medicine and Pediatric (Gastroenterology), Professor of School of Graduate Studies Chief of Gastroenterology, VAMC, and Director of the Advanced GI Endoscopy program. He is the Chair of the World Endoscopy Organization Outreach Committee. Dr. Dua has over 200 publications and has received several awards including the ASGE Master of Endoscopy award, B.J. Vakil Gold Medal, Poona Oration Gold Medal, DRS Gold Medal, and USA Healthcare Hero award. For his contributions to Endoscopy, he was inducted in the first batch of top 60 endoscopists of the world: Master of the ASGE (MASGE). He holds a private pilot’s license.

Dr. Abdullah AlMousa is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with advanced expertise in endobariatric and metabolic endoscopy, currently serving as Vice President of Academic Affairs & Research Center at Qassim Health Cluster (QHC) and Chief of the EndoBariatrics Service Line at QHC. Dr. AlMousa is recognized for his leadership in minimally invasive obesity and metabolic interventions, academic program development, and clinical innovation. His professional interests include Value-Based Health Care (VBHC), outcomes-driven research, and the design of structured education and training programs. He is actively engaged in national and international collaborations, clinical research initiatives, and capacity-building efforts that support healthcare transformation and the advancement of academic medicine.
